A big thank you to La Casa Azul Bookstore for hosting the “How to Impress Agents and Editors” Panel, featuring Nora de Hoyos Comstock, Ph.D. (president and CEO of Las Comadres para las Americas), Adriana Dominguez (literary agent at Full Circle Literary) and the oh-so-helpful Marcela Landres (“Manuscript Madrina”, author and Editorial Consultant) this past September.  The all-female participants (including myself!) got insightful industry tips for their manuscripts or works-in-progress, with a particular focus on diversity in books.  For those who don’t know about La Casa Azul Bookstore, do check them out in El Barrio. Bookstore, community center, party space, art studio, hub for all things Latino–it’s one of those gems that knows how to be many-things-in-one, while not loosing sight of its core mission for Latino literature. It goes without saying, it’s uber-family friendly.
